LONG AND LASTING LOVE.

It’s cheesy, but relationships are a lot like flowers – they can bloom and blossom with the right care and attention, but if neglected they will wilt. We need to learn how to nurture your relationship and help it reach its potential. Building a strong relationship is still depend on the couple. But here, I posted some tips or ways to build a strong relationship that lasts.

Don’t nag unnecessarily

Try to avoid nagging. Nagging not only gets on yours and your partner’s nerves, it also engages you both in negative communication patterns, which ends up making you both feel bad.

Forgive and Forget

Arguing is a natural and healthy part of a relationship. Yet there are lots of things we tend to do during arguments that are unhealthy. For example, bringing up past fights and using them as ‘evidence’ to prove a point in your current fight is unhelpful and useless. If you want your relationship to last, you have to live and focus on the present and stop letting the past dictate your here and now. 

Make time and give time

If you do not spend enough time with your partner inevitably you will feel distant from them and one of you will wind up feeling unappreciated. To keep each other happy and to make sure your relationship remains strong, find time for your guy or girl. Prioritizing them over some of your other commitments will make them feel valued and important. Plus, spending some quality time together will bring you closer together.

Don't be defensive

When we act defensively we position ourselves as in the right and our partners as in the wrong. Often we may also see the argument as something we need to win, rather than something we need to resolve. If you want your relationship to last you need to put a stop to defensive behavior.

Don't ignore issues

If something is bugging you don’t just ignore it. You need to sit down with your partner and constructively tackle the issue together. If you do ignore it your anger will build and when finally it is triggered (normally by something barely related to the underlying issue) you’ll be so angry you won’t be able to express yourself clearly or be able to work through your problem. To make sure your relationship lasts face issues as soon as they strike.  

Love can change

Love is never constant. Some days you will feel huge amounts of love for your partner and on other days you might feel a little less love. Yet just because you don’t feel quite as passionately today for your guy or girl as you did last week does not mean you are falling out of love with them entirely. It is just a natural part of any relationship and you shouldn't worry too much or over analyse these shifts.

Compliments

When you first started dating you probably drowned each other with compliments. But now you've both settled into your long-term relationship when did you last tell your guy or girl that they look good, or that you’re proud of them? Little compliments help to boost your partner’s confidence and helps them to feel appreciated, which will help your relationship stay healthy and positive.

Have sex (This is only for married couples)

All long-term relationships go through dry spells and when you jump into bed after a long day having sex can be the last thing you fancy doing. Yet, sex is important and essential to happy relationships because when you and your partner have sex the hormone oxytoxin is released, which helps you to feel close with your guy or girl. Make sure sex becomes a priority in you want to hold onto this guy or girl.  

Understand your differences

It can sometimes feel like men and women belong to different species. We have so many different needs and perceptions, which makes communicating and relationships tough. One of the best ways to overcome these differences is simply to accept that they exist and be aware of these quirks in your day-to-day life.

Be vocal

You should never expect your partner to instinctively know what you want or need. Be vocal instead and tell them that you are feeling a certain way and need some support. Being explicit about your needs will mean you get the right support and they know how they can help you – in other words, everyone’s a winner.

This topic is relevant to the young people and what the Bible says. It's about Music. Love Songs. It's hard to imagine without Music in our Life. Cats, Monsters and Broken Hearts will help us to realize what the purpose of God in our lives is.


We're looking at three of the most popular music, wherein most listen of the young people today. Most downloaded songs of our generation.

What is Music???

Music is powerful. "Make your words count" - Taylor Swift
Music can change the world. Music is not just for entertainment.


Music is powerful because it produces various emotions in our hearts. Produces relaxing feeling.


Music is Unsettling. Music with songs convey ideas and send messages that affect our perceptions. 


Sometimes,  it generates a behavioral pattern whether we are conscious or not.


Napoleon Bonaparte: Musicians and singers are more powerful and influencial than senators.


Let's now see the three most popular songs of our generation and let us also see what the Bible says for our generation:

Solomon wrote a song- "The days of your youth are numbered." In other words, you're not gonna be young forever.




The Bible says on Ecclesiastes 12:1
" Remember your Creator
    in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come
    and the years approach when you will say,
    “I find no pleasure in them”—"

>remember that you have a creator.   
>remember that you were created.

Every decision we make today will impact our future.
Life is short. It just a matter of time. Death is the destiny of a man.

God said: You came from me. I'm your creator. I created you.



On Colossians 1:16
" For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him."


We are created by Him and for Him.


On Ephesians 2:10
" For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."


Other Words: We are God's "Masterpiece"


NLT: For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.


There's a purpose assigned in our lives. You may look ordinary to other people but you are valuable because of the One who made you. Jesus paid the high price to redeem you and I.God is a Big dream for your life. Instead of embracing the Teenage Dream, God wants us to embrace God's Dream for our lives.


Remember your Creator! Fullfill God's word when you are young. Give your best years to God.


Our Life came from God. For a child to be conceived in the mother's womb, it takes one sperm and one cell to come together for Life to be produced. The probability of living and having a life is one out of 500Million. God has given you a once in a lifetime chance to live. God gave us an opportunity to exists. 



Remember your Creator in the days of your Youth, there's a creator who created you and gave you the chance to live, don't throw it away. Don't embrace a teenage dream that suggest you to go all the way.


There's a hole in our lives that only God can fill it. We're always searching for something. We can search everything in this world, but the Bible says, at the end of your Life apart from God, you will find no fulfillment.

We're created by Him and we're created for Him. God wants us to embrace His dream not a Teenage dream.

We need to have standards, basis, filters.


Syncretism - combining of different (often contradictory) beliefs, often while melding practices of various schools of thought.


"There's nothing wrong with loving who you are" - in the bible. love your neighbor as you love yourselves.


"Cause he made you perfect, babe" - We know that we are not perfect.



"I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes" -  God makes no mistakes. -God is sovereign.


"I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way"
this way. - There is no reason to change. You don't have to be change if you are born.


"Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Whether you're broke or evergreen
You're black, white, beige, chola descent
You're Lebanese, you're orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied, or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
'cause baby you were born this way" - Wherever you came from you need to love people.


"No matter gay, straight, or bi,
Lesbian, transgendered life,
I'm on the right track baby,
I was born to survive." - That's not true.





The Bible says in Genesis 1:27
" So God created mankind in his own image, 
    in the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them."



-God made clearly made a line. Male and Female.



"Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way" - you don't have no choice.


What Jesus is saying: We have a choice. Choice to be reborn.


Just because you were born that way, it doesn't mean that you have to stay that way.


God said, "Yes, you were born that way but I don't want you to stay that way."


Bible: We are unique and special.We were created in the image of God. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. 


Don't let others dictate for who you are, because you were created in the image of God.



John 3:3
" Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. "


A. Jesus said, I tell you the truth.

Sincerity without the truth is dangerous.


If what you believe today is not founded on the truth no matter how sincere you are the life that God has given you will be destroyed. God is holy, so that He can not tolerate the sin.


1 Corinthians 13:4-6(Love)

...Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.


Boundaries are expression of God's love.




B. ...no one can see the kingdom of God


Kingdom of God: the area of rulership of God.


In Romans 14:11-12
It is written:


“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
    every tongue will acknowledge God.’”
12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.


When are you going to bow your knees to Him as Lord?


C. Born Again

Jesus did not come to establish religion but Jesus came to restore relationships. Religion can not save you. Unless you are reborn, transformed, changed.



Lady gaga said: You were born that way. There's no other choice. Just accept who you are out.
Jesus said: You can be born again.


We all need to be born again because we are born with Sin.



SIN: Electrochemical balances leading to biological disfunctions. the solution is not repentance and not forgiveness from God. it takes medicine.


In Psalm 51:5
" Surely I was sinful at birth, 
    sinful from the time my mother conceived me. "


What we need is an ultimate acceptance. But the Bible says, we need a Savior. Sin is basically rebelling God, insulting God.


In Romans 5:8
" But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. "


For once and for all, our sins can be forgiven. The only way for sin to dealt with and to be paid for is for someone without sin to pay for it.Only Jesus has no sin. Very relentless. Standing face to face.


Just like in the Movie: Blood Diamond with Leonardo De Caprio. When the Father helped his son to realize that whatever happened in the past, he is still his son and he loves him so much.

In John 1:12-13
" Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. "

We all need to be born again because we are not supposed to be born this way.

Dream: Happily ever after
Reality: Broken Hearts


A lot of people end up of broken marriages, divorce, married yet unhappily married.


What we do is to fill the gap. Some people, they hop to a relationship to a relationship.
Some didn't believe in marriage.
For some, same sex marriage.


First love story in the bible: Genesis 2: 18-22
" The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man."


When God created everything, there's a benediction (blessing). It is good. God said that it is not good when He saw Adam was alone.


God initiated Adam's lovelife. God initiated lovelife.


Observations:


1. Adam wasn't crazy about love.


Contrast with our generation today.
Because Adam was busy not idle fullfilling the purpose of God for his life. God is busy using Adam to change the world.


2. God brought Eve to Adam
-God is love. If you remove God in the equation, it will never gonna be work.
-Let's go back to the author of Love and let God be involve in your love story.


3. Adam was secure in God
-He trusted God to fill his every needs.


In Genesis 1:26-27
"Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image, 
    in the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them."


God created as whole.

We think that somebody complete us.


Each time your heart is broken, a piece of your life gets broken.


Everytime you are trying to fill the emptiness with someone you get broken and broken, then the right one came along you were already crushed and you can't make it worked.

There's always an emptiness in our life. 

In 1 Peter 2:6

See, I lay a stone in Zion,

    a chosen and precious cornerstone, 

and the one who trusts in him

    will never be put to shame.

Anyone who trusts in him 

       will never be disappointed. (NCV)

Whoever trusts in this stone as a foundation 

       will never have cause to regret it. (The message)

Trust God to fill your emotional needs. You will never disappointed and never regret it, you will end up a happy love life.

How?: Just come back, Come to Him.

Are you willing to give up everything you have to have Me? -Jesus

The "Someone Like You" that we need in our Life is Jesus Christ, the precious Cornerstone.

3 Dimensions of God's Will

> Acts 20:27
"For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God."

1. Providential Will of God-He will do any way no matter what. (ex. Sending His own Son)
2. Moral Will of God-What is right and what is wrong.

"The more we understand the Providential will of God, and the more we obey the moral will of God, the easier it is for us to find out the personal will of God for us."

3. Personal Will-things that he wants us to do.

How do we know that personal will?

What if God reveals His will and you don't like it?
>Why do I know to know your Will?

Eph. 5:15-17(NIV)

15 Be very careful, then, how you live —not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

Contemporary English Version (CEV)

15 Act like people with good sense and not like fools. 16 These are evil times, so make every minute count. 17 Don't be stupid. Instead, find out what the Lord wants you to do.

-Some people, God's will is hard to find.
-They found but don't understand.

Our father wants to reveal it and He don't want to miss it.

How do we know?:

2. Circumstances
3. Prophecy
4. Dreams and Visions

But sometimes they can be so subjective.


Test: 3 Legged stool

1. Spirit if God
John 10:4
...his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
God is a communicative god.

the communicative nature of god is reflected on females.
speaks 20-24K words/day
male: 7-10K/day

Jesus said "You know my Voice".
Jesus send the Holy Spirit, so today we may hear God. but it is not audible.
Acts 13:2
still small voice that stirs in your heart.

2. God's Word

The Bible-the ultimate judge of God's will or not.

God's will is backed up with God's Word. 

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp for my feet,

    a light on my path.

3. God's people

Proverbs 12:15
15 The way of fools seems right to them,
    but the wise listen to advice.

The problem is too many times when God reveals His will to us, we are not willing to follow it.

We take God's will as an Advise. God doesn't give us a direction for our consideration but for our participation.





Life is a Journey. God has a destination for us. Has a great destiny for us.

When you get the wrong steps, you may slip or seriously injured your self. Or worst, you sink unto your death.

Proverbs 3:6

    and he will show you which path to take.

The Prophecy of my Journey with God and His promises

This is what the Lord says about me, about He wants me to do and about my future with Him. This happened last March 17, 2012

Helene. This is for Helene. Helene I believe God that is saying to you that “I have given you such a measure of faith. I have given you just the ability to believe for big things. And sometimes that ability might cause people to think that you are such a dreamer. But I have just given you such an ability to dream big, things that are sometimes impossible for others but you, there’s just the faith to believe that it’s possible and it can happen. Know my daughter that I’m putting you in situations where it would require you to really believe God for a miracle. I’m putting you in a situation where your faith will be stretched, because I want your faith muscles to grow. Because I have called you to do great things and it would require faith to believe. Because it’s not going to be fulfilled with just by practically, it’s not going to be fulfilled with just by careful planning. It would require an intervention of God; it would require a miracle from God. And at times, if you would enter a situation, if you compute, if you plan it seems like it’s not going to work but I’m not calling you to do it by your own brilliance, I’m calling you to do it by faith. And I’m going to put you in situation to build that muscle because in the coming years of your life there are things that I’m going to put in front of you that can only, that you would be able to only accomplish if you would believe Me for the miracle. If you are going to believe Me to come true for you. Know my daughter that you are a woman of faith. You’re such one that will be an inspiration to many. When they look to you they would believe that indeed nothing is impossible with God. You’re such a woman who would always seek God in every situation, you would always see the possibility not the negative but you are going to see the possibility. I’m changing the way you think, I’m renewing your mind, I’m changing the way you process things. Sometimes, you tend to be too systematic. Sometimes, you tend to be so practical. But the Lord is saying to you, live by faith, that’s what I want you to do. I want you to live by faith because the righteous shall live by faith. Living by just your own will box you with the plans I have for you, that’s why I want you to live by faith. Don’t fail to focus on Me. Keep your eyes focus on Me, because the moment you turn your eyes off of Me, you will start to sink. Just remember Peter, when he started walking on water, he was able to do that was never done before. But when he removed his eyes off of Me, that’s where he started to sink. And know my daughter that I’ve called you to walk; I’ve called you to walk on water, I’ve called you to do extraordinary things, even your family will be amazed that in the family you’re such one would be able to do something that not even accomplish by other family members. So know my daughter that, that’s where I am calling you. So focus on me and learn to live by faith not by sight”. (Prayer)

The Lord is also telling you right now, “My daughter, I have also given you the ability to LEAD. And many times, your usually line is ‘susuportahan na lang kita’. You just want to be the second man, the second in command. You never wanted to be in the front line and it’s really because you display a different kind of humility. But the Lord is saying, “My daughter, I have wired you to lead people and not just be on the back end, watching the battle happen. You are someone who’s called into the battlefield; you are someone who’s called to tell people to take charge and take heart and follow God”. The Lord is saying, “Gone are the days where you just follow what everyone else’s doing. Sometimes, it’s like your tendency is kung saan yung sure, kung saan yung safe, pano mo ginagawa toh? Sige gagayahin ko na lang”. But the Lord is telling you, “As you begin to depend on Me in this season of your life, you will begin to discover that there are a lot of people who have been waiting for you all this time to rise up because they believe in you. You have no idea how much greatness is in you at this very moment”. The Lord is saying to you, “I will begin to open your eyes so you will see that there are so many people waiting for you to take a lead and take a step of faith and tell them we can do this together. You are someone who can really lead people towards God’s purpose and God’s calling and gifting for the lives”. And the Lord is saying, “My daughter, as you know and discovers more about My grace and My spirit in you. You will begin to be surprised with who you will turn out to be. There’s going to be a season of big transformation that’s about to happen for you”.” It’s like, if you were a butterfly that was trapped in a cocoon once”, the Lord is saying, “Now, it’s time to release the fullness of My plan over your life, the fullness of my gifting, the fullness of my purpose and even that leadership ability will come upon you with power. There will be no shy seasons, there will be no hiding seasons, and there will be no pass muna seasons”. The Lord is saying, “Go my daughter, it’s your time to lead people, it’s your time to disciple people, it’s your time to take my word and put it into actions. It’s not a time to rationalize, to think, and reorder. You keep reordering your steps, so sometimes you feel like hindi ka nakakamove forward”. The Lord is saying, “I am releasing you forward, I am releasing you with a new boldness, with a new spirit of faith, with a new understanding and I am releasing you with such a strong sense of responsibility at this season. You will begin to own. Discipleship will not just be something that you hear or something that doesn’t sink in. It will be something that you will be so alive and you will be so passionate in discipling people that you will begin to disciple not just one but multitudes. You will begin to discover a new passion to meet with people, a new passion to pound the Word of God in them and it will be your joy to see them one by one rising up taking leadership because that’s the very same thing that I am doing and calling you for. You are called to lead people; you are not called to watch in the sidelines; you are called to tell them to move forward in their lives; you are called to preach the gospel to them and you are called to minister My word to them”, says the lord your God.
